Grave of the Fireflies is something you have to see, but not something you want to stick in for fun. It is depressing, but well-expressed. My gripes (minor):

Doesn't pull punches, yet shows the horror of war gently. Nice animation - created by Miyazaki's chief assistant, obviously with the same quality talent.
