Plot Quickie:
The intelligence community takes on a hacker who can take over the minds
of others, while uncovering other plots.
Plot Keywords:
Future, Cyberpunk, Political
Comments:
This film was a major joint theatrical release, though it had limited
release in the US. Based on Masumune Shirow's manga series, the plot
follows Mjr. Kusinage - a cyborg intelligence officer - and her
co-workers as they track down a "ghost hacker" - someone capable of
hacking into people's brains. Typical dystopic Shirow world, and
typical ethical questions.
My gripes:
Frame rate was slower than I'd hoped for a theatrical release.
My likes:
Love the Shirow tech and society, as always. Nice soundtrack, good
voice-acting for the English dub. Art makes up for most of the
frame rate issues.
